Pumpkin Patch Produce

I drew a quick sketch this morning of a couple of pumpkins from the Avila Barn pumpkin patch, which my wife picked out as she bravely "enjoyed" a morning chaperoning a busload of kindergartners.

  1. Jeff, do you accept critiques or suggestions? I think this turned out really well but there is one little thing that I think stands out.

  2. I love the texture you created through out but there are 2 blue and one purple lines on the larger stem that stand out and keeps pulling my eye there. They seem a little out of place with the open texture of the rest of your painting. I'm not sure the blue works there either. Maybe if you could blend it in a tad or break it up a little? That's just suggestion though. Otherwise, I like this piece. I totally love your avocado though! Awesome job, spot on!

  3. Thanks for your comment, Marvell. I agree! In fact, once I saw the painting on the Internet, I went back and minimized that blue line on the stem (I should do the same for the purple one as well). I have to admit to the problem of always looking at my work as a work-in-progress which means that I publish them without looking at them as critically as I should. Thanks for bringing that to my attention!
